Inter-House Debate Competition

An Inter-Hose Debate Competition for Classes 9 to 12, was organised on April 27, 2024 in Guru Nanak Academy. Two speakers from each of the four houses participated in competition. The topic for the debate for Category I, comprising of Classes 9 and 10, was “Marks achieved in Class X is the only yardstick to measure future success”. Gargi Khanduri of Ajit House was adjudged the best speaker, while Shubhankar Kala of Zorawar House took the second position.

The topic for Category II, comprising of Classes 11 and 12, was “Books smarts do better than Street smarts”. Sadgi Upadhyay of Zorawar House and Rohan Gusain of Fateh House were adjudged the joint best speakers. The overall winner was Zorawar House. The judges were impressed by the performance of the debaters. The competition was judged by Senior English teacher from Carman School, Mrs. Pooja Bisht and Senior English teacher, St. Thomas’s College, Mrs. Shilpa Chawla. The winners were awarded certificates and gifts by the judges.
